Chrome only allows an extension from its own Web Store to be installed by dragging. For anything else — including this — Load unpacked is the route the browser gives you. It takes about thirty seconds.

  1. Unzip it somewhere you will keep. The browser loads it from wherever the folder sits, so don't unzip into Downloads and then tidy up.
  2. Open chrome://extensions — or edge://extensions, brave://extensions, opera://extensions, vivaldi://extensions.
  3. Turn on Developer mode (top right; bottom left on Edge).
  4. Click Load unpacked and pick the folder that has manifest.json in it.
  5. Reload your cam site and start your cam.

“Manifest file is missing or unreadable” means you picked one folder too high or too low — Windows' Extract All adds an extra folder named after the zip. “Requires Chrome version 111” means the browser is too old; use the userscript tab instead.

Waterfox, Firefox ESR, Developer Edition, LibreWolf and Nightly can install this permanently:

  1. Open about:config and accept the warning.
  2. Search xpinstall.signatures.required and double-click it so it reads false.
  3. Open about:addons → gear icon → Install Add-on From File…
  4. Pick the .xpi you just downloaded, confirm, reload your cam site.

On ordinary Firefox from mozilla.org, Mozilla blocks any permanent install of an add-on it has not signed, and the setting above is ignored there. Two honest options: use the userscript tab (permanent, no signing involved, same engine), or load this .xpi for one session via about:debugging → This Firefox → Load Temporary Add-on.

On Firefox for Android, use the userscript tab.

Widest reach and the fewest steps. Works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Firefox, Waterfox, LibreWolf, Safari and Firefox for Android — no developer mode, no signing, and it survives a browser restart.

  1. Install Violentmonkey (free, open source) or Tampermonkey from your browser's add-on store.
  2. Click the button above. The manager opens an install screen.
  3. Click Install, then reload your cam site.

If the button shows you a page of code instead, the manager isn't installed yet — install it, then click again.

  • Change effects live without rejoining or restarting your cam.
  • Snapshot and record in the desktop app, plus a virtual-camera bridge for the Zoom and Discord desktop programs.

Your video, your settings and any picture you add never leave your machine — no account, no analytics, no tracking. The only request it makes is asking us whether a newer version is out, without cookies and at most once a day; it will tell you in the panel and you can turn even that off. The add-on runs only on the cam sites it lists, and your video still goes only where the site was already sending it. Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi take the extension; Firefox, Waterfox and everything else take the userscript build, which is the same engine.
